A FABULOUS study tool! Highly recommended

This is a fabulous study tool! My Hematology professor suggested this to the class at the beginning of the semester. I do not know how I would be able to perform a differential or be able to clearly identify different cells that are so close together without this tool. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who feels they need to freshen up on hematology or just someone starting to learn. This is a wonderful product I am extremely happy with the product.

Love this book

I choose this book because it said you can write on the pages with ball point pin and wipe clean with alcohol which I tried and it works. At first I didn't realize it was a pocket sized book until it came in the mail. But also like that feature now too. The best part is that the pages are tabbed for quick and easy to find cells. I have recommended this book to other co-workers.

Theodore R. Marmor is Professor Emeritus of Public Policy and Political Science at Yale, Marmor is the author, among other works, of Understanding Health Care Reform. Saved my soul - at the right time and place

I've followed the IG since 1989 and their music always mends my pains or distracts them by raising my awareness to a higher level. This album was particularly special to me as it carried me through a hard time. I feel blessed to have their music in my life for so long - guess we are all just growing together and making the world a place where hope still exists and healing is real. A witty yet cautionary tale to entertain and enlighten screenwriters and Hollywood hopefuls

As a long-time Hollywood script reader for major film companies and agencies, I enjoyed Adam Novak's wry (but all too true) approach to the inside story of a film director and agency "script guru." With a long tenure at one of Hollywood's top agencies himself, Novak knows the score. My favorite sections were his pseudo-coverage comments, and I learned a few fresh "reader-wit" turns of phrase to use in any future coverage I might write! Thanks, Adam, for a peek behind the curtain which educates as well as entertains.

Strange Little Beast of a Novella

This is a strange little beast of a novella in the form of a transcript of an unaired podcast documenting a conversation between an A-list Hollywood agency story guru, and a D-list screenwriter turned adjunct writing instructor. As a kind of freewheeling insider's view of how Hollywood actually works, it's pretty interesting. But the transcript is also dotted with references to an unsolved murder, which by the end of the story, is solved. I guess you kind of need that gimmick to make it more than just the author -- himself, a veteran Hollywood story guy -- sharing a peek behind the movie magic curtain. The book is really about the lowly "readers" who are tasked with reading piles of screenplays and writing 1-page "coverage" for each, indicating quality, commercial potential, and how it could fit into the agency or studio's plans. Think of them as the triage nurses of the Hollywood battlefield. Although entertainingly written, your level of enjoyment of all this is going to largely depend on your level of interest in how the movie sausage gets made. I found it compelling enough that the murder element didn't really add anything other than a reason for the rambling industry tales to come to an end.

One of the most important modern religious works.

This is the book that brought an end to 19th century liberal theology's attempt to produce a neat synthesis of Christianity and culture, a psychological Christianity or an anthropologized Christianity. The project was a failure, and Barth tells us why and what should replace it -- a religionless Christianity? Not really a Biblical commentary. If you're looking for an exposition of the text, this isn't what you want. It's more like a manifesto, using Paul's epistle to the Romans as a place to begin the attack on cultural, non-prophetic Christianity. Written in a dialectical, highly expressive style. If you like Kierkegaard and Nietzsche, this is your kind of theologizing -- with a hammer. It can be exhausting, and you will either love it or hate it. Barth later changed his style and tone, but not his message.

The infinite qualitative difference between God and Humanity

This is Barth's bombardment against syncretism of all kinds in Christianity. He wrestles with Paul's epistle until it is 'transparent' to the mid-20th century context, and exposes the compromises of modern religion. Barth's struggle (and that of his disciple Dietrich Bonhoeffer) against the Nazi regime flowed inevitably from his relentless questioning of Christian liberalism.
At first it may appear that he is only dealing superficially with the text of Romans as a pretext for his own thoughts, but soon you see a depth of understanding of Paul's message that makes other commentaries appear lightweight. The question for Christian churches is what to build on the rubble that this book leaves behind of our most cherished ecclesiastical and religious dreams. Highly recommended.

An exhausting read

The way to tackle this book is first not to expect an easy read in the way of a 'companion read to Paul's Epistle to the Romans'. This is stuff for theologians. I have to admit that it was way above me. All I could rescue from its doomed oblivion were some quotations here and there. I think the first and second above reviewers give a good account of it: this is a break-up with liberal evangelicalism; it's no "make-you-feel-good" religion. I suppose it meant a lot by the time it was published; today we might take it for granted.

He points out, as Luther did, the "kernel" of the whole Epistle: "For there is no distinction: for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (3:23)

On sin: "Precisely when we recognize that we are sinners do we perceive that we are brothers."

Works vs Faith: "So long as we are swayed by any other motive except faith, we do not stand before God."
