Great Book!

This was an excellent book that we used in a college Web Design course. It has some very intersting facts/info on the history of Media and Mass Communication, and how it has changed business, advertising, and the world in general. Very interesting book with some good info.

Great introductory text

This text makes entrance to the field of study easy. It's easy to read and well-organized. The use of examples from the real world industries and colorful photo insets also make it a lot more interesting. There is a 2012 version of this text (which seems to be updated almost every year or nearly) but I chose to save my money and get this version. If you are sufficiently up-to-date with current events in the industries, I don't believe there is any real disadvantage because the examples represent the majority of changes. It is a relatively simple matter to apply the principles explored to the current news and events dealt with by each section. I also compared this text with a popular introductory text by Shirley Biagi, "Media/Impact" and found this one to be the more student-friendly of the two.
