Great seller but the biochem author is awful

Not the best biochem book, but the seller was fast and it was an old edition that was super cheap. This book reads like stereo instructions. There are so many better Biochemistry books out there.

Chem major vastly interested in the chemistry of biology - this is the pinacle

Voet and Voet goes synonymous to advanced biochemistry. It is wonderful how he takes you through the course of the book. The detailed examples are simply perfect. He's talking about biological function of Z-DNA, he gives exact details about the conditions and conclusions that let the fact. You would very less likely ask, 'why is that' to the extent of interesting details he goes to.
It is the examples that I think make this book so wholesome.
However, as others have mentioned, the communication could be better. You always have to read twice before you perfectly get to what he says.
Also, it is intended to be a 'professor's' book. He gives so many details that although it all sounds like a fact and worth storing in memory, it isn't. It is hard to classify. Use this book, only if you are very much interested in the details of the subject. To my knowledge, a complete knowledge (as much as you can remember!) of the subject can take you straight to the field of your choice, which I am perfectly sure would not much difficulty learning since there'll not be a vastness that is not mentioned in Voet and Voet.

Book was indeed in good condition.. Pages were turning yellow but it is ok.. Good book
